Wow!!! There aren't enough words. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster. I'll be honest...I was attracted to this book by the cover. Lance Jones is a hottie, so who could blame me. Then I met the author, T.H. Snyder, and she is an absolute doll. Such a great team! I was drawn into this story from the beginning. Linc's relationship with his pretentious family is totally relatable. His friendship with Daulton is endearing and reminds me of my son with his best friend. The tragedy they endure together was heartbreaking and bond building all at the same time. I was intrigued to see how it would shape these two young men. Trying to leave out spoilers. Of course what happened as children shaped them differently and caused adverse reactions to other relationships. At times I wanted to shake Linc for his stupidity with Jo. Then when Etty comes along from her own walking nightmare things change drastically. Etty definitely bounced back quicker than I assumed from the life she ran from. She brings her own issues to the dynamic. I was relieved to see that it didn't affect Linc's end decision. I don't want to reveal too much but I am super excited to read Cursed Ecstasy next. Big fan of Paul Blake too! Great read. I love the story line, and yes, even the cliff hanger. Cliff hangers don't bother me one bit. The characters are all great. Linc is the tattooed, damaged, badboy (but not a complete jerk badboy). You can tell he has a great heart, he just doesn't know how to show it. Jo, I was unsure about her at first, but after reading her POV, I understood what she was going through, and completely understand why she feels the way she does. Etty is the new girl, she's on the run from her psycho (and I mean psycho, jerk, cruel...) ex. She is starting all over. And she's waiting for her ex to find her. Will be starting book 2 right after I post this review.
