Every knock at his door, he hoped it was Perrimore coming to him with something he’d dug up on those accounts, and not word of his brand-new husband involved in a high-speed car chase on the news. He was so close to faking an illness and leaving the field office in the very capable hands of his second-in-charge. The only thing keeping him there was the knowledge that differing from his routine would alert the mole to something going on, and that was just one problem they did not need to be dealing with right now.
