This is the story of how Dusty finds his mate. I have to say this story wasn't really what I was expecting, for one Dusty comes across as an ass most of the time and Bianca (Dusty's mate) is kind of a push over but it works in the story even though I would have liked her to have more of a backbone.When we see Dusty's house in the eyes of Bianca I think everyone would have the urge to mess up his white and black no dust house a bit. It would kind of drive me insane. Dusty has a problem with getting passed what happened to his sister (it happened a long time ago) and Bianca in her own way helps him get passed it. Darian (the gray god) I love in this book, the way he acts like adolescent does bring some laughs but at the same time shows how his past has effected him so much. We dont see much of Jules or the white god and for that I'm kind of sad about but at the same time we get to know the other characters better and meet new ones. Jen is the Guardian that every man wants and since she had a friends with benefits arrangement with Dusty I was all for hating her and her to be mean to Bianca but to my surprise Jen is a really likable character. She actually pushes Dusty to go to Bianca. This book has a lot of pain and death in it but it also has new beginnings for a lot of people. Damian's Assassin was a good read and it flowed really well I could have finished it in one sitting but life got in the way. Like the first in the trilogy, I liked this book but really wanted to love it. The characters were engaging and fun. Dusty and Bianca make a great team and I love that she brings out his soft side - being that he is the assassin of the team he always seems so closed off before he met her. There is action and romance and I enjoyed reading it but again it just doesn't seem long enough. The back bone of the story is really good and all the necessary pieces are there to make this story great but it doesn't quite make it.
