The finale did not make as big of an impact on me as I had expected it to. I found Daphne's character a bit lacking. She was more intriguing in the previous books of the series (maybe due to her small parts in it), though the conversations between her and Castleford were pretty amusing. Castleford was the prime reason for me to read the book and although I am happy with the end I can not help but feel the same way as Hawkswell did knowing that Castleford will not be the same anymore. As Hawkswell said, "The best last hope of mankind, and it comes to this." I enjoyed this book and am a big fan of Madeline Hunter in general. I listened to the audio version of this book and while I generally prefer audio books, I was not a fan of the person who read this novel.I think the romance is well written, and there were absolutely fun plot twists and surprises. It's an easy read and a good book.Hero: 3/5Heroine: 3/5Writing: 4/5Audio/Reading: 2/5Side Characters 2.5/5Plot: 3.5/5Overall story: 3.5/5
What do You think about Dangerous In Diamonds (2011)?
Daphne and Castlefords story is the best of the four Rarest Blooms books.
