Outstanding. Breathtaking. Mindblowing.I cannot find enough words to describe how much I loved every page of this novel. It was a perfect sci-fi story, a perfect love story, a perfect dystopia. The alien threat felt absolutely real! Brady's thoughts were wonderfully lifelike. And their unique love story captivated me immensely. I loved every second of it. The novel was pure showing with hardly any telling. I don't want to repeat the plot in my review, so I'll leave it at that.Let me just say, I LOVED Dark Space. This is amazing! If you love scifi and sizzling M/M then this is it! Seriously, I was hooked from the beginning, couldn't put it down, ignored everything else, gotta know what happens next! The science fiction is great, Defender 3 is an orbiting military outpost where Brady Garrett has spent three of his 10 year conscripted duty. Two other outposts were previously destroyed by the Faceless and everyone knows if they come back there is no defense against them. It takes 28 minutes to evacuate the outpost but the others were destroyed in ten. The reader isn't bombarded with technical data about Defender Three but we know how it's shaped, where the quarters, offices and barracks are. No matter how far in the future this takes place, the military hasn't changed much. The Faceless, creepy! Humans know little about them. They attack and retreat. Tall, humanoid with battle armor that is nothing more than thin black vinyl substance that none of our weapons can penetrate. Four years ago they attacked a shuttle pod killing everyone on board except Hawk pilot Lt. Cameron Rushton. Now Cameron has been returned! Imagine being someone's walking talking life support system!! The writing is superb! I have a sore on my lip from chewing on as Brady learns to deal with someone else in his head. While we wait for the Faceless to return. Cam keeps telling us "Soon". Will there be peace like Cam says? Can he be trusted? Will the Faceless destroy the human race? The relationship forced onto Brady and Cameron by the Faceless is carefully choreographed by the author. This is no fairy tale and the reader isn't guaranteed a happily ever after here. Just an amazing piece of writing here. You must read it yourself!
