I was pleasantly surprised with this series. At first glance I was a bit iffy, but I was quickly sucked into the story. Despite the fact that it's aimed at younger readers, I found it engaging and intriguing. The whole series was well worth reading. The characters were well constructed and the vampire culture was quite different to many others I've read about. It was a fresh and beautiful experience for me. This is my ultimate favorite book series. But I read every single book so fast I was sad when it was over. So of course when I found out that it had a manga version to it I had to get my hands on it. It was awesome to reread my favorite book series of all time in an illustrated format. I love this version just as much as the original. And this is also a great way to get people who aren't readers into a really great story that I'm sure they will enjoy. Good things are all I have to say about this and I love the way the characters are drawn.
