Another great installment to this series! Once again Mac has found herself in werewolf trouble. Though this time she dragged herself into it since she went searching for Kyle, but still, she kept her cool and used her extremely street smart brain to get out of tough situations. And she definitely found a way to be sneaky when she was at Thornhill, especially since she wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. I also really love how selfless Mac is, always trying to find a way to help ones in need and putting herself in a bad situation. As long as someone gets saved, she is happy with whatever happens. She is also extremely loyal to her friends who she has come to care about. Going cross country to get Kyle back and going back to save Serena and Kyle was something she didn't have to think twice about. She knows what she wants and goes after it, even if no one is willing to go with her. Cannot wait to read the third and final book! I'm hoping things get better between her and Kyle, but I may have my suspicions on how that will end up. Read this series! You will be hooked and the storyline is extremely easy to follow that you won't realize you've finished a 300+ page book until you are at the end, wanting more! This book was a pretty good sequel to the first, in my opinion. In this book, Mac runs after Kyle, and she finally discovers him with a pack in Colorado (this seems like a spoiler, but it's in the summary). But there is a raid, and Mac, Kyle, and Serena end up in Thornhill, a new camp for wolves. Led by malicious Warden Sinclair, it is supposed to change wolves into "better people." But is that really what it's doing? Even though she's a reg, Mac refuses to leave Thornhill without the people she cares about, safe and sound.I thought this book was interesting, suspenseful, and satisfying after reading the first book, Hemlock. I liked the gripping twists, turns, and surprises throughout the story. One criticism I would have is that the writing itself wasn't that skilled at some points in the story, so it was really only the plot that drove me to continue--I wanted to know what would happen next. However, there were other places with great writing, too. In addition, I'm not such a huge fan of the decision Mac is facing between loving Jason or Kyle. I just didn't find the love, especially Jason's, very realistic or believable. But to be fair, that might just be my personal opinion, and I do understand that romance is what drives some key parts of this story.Overall, I found this a great book, and now I'm waiting for the third!
What do You think about Deadly Thorns (2013)?
Je l'ai préféré au premier. Un tome sans temps mort, vivement la suite !
