Destapándote: El Contrato (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

This review is about books 1 and 2 and I'll do my best to mark any spoilers though that's not the point of my review. I'll also preface this by saying that I do like dark reads. I like some messed up shit. I get off on some messed up shit (nothing to make me a criminal though *smiles*). So, this being a dark book did not effect my rating whatsoever.I was intrigued by the first Book even realizing that it was going to be a mind-fuck of a read which I didn't think I was in the mood for. The character development was good, well, as far as the main Chick goes. The writing was good. The plot was intriguing as was the ending. So I picked up book 2 and got...the same thing. Characters didn't have any growth. There was torture, there was her secret plot of escape using her brain which never went anywhere cause she kept effing it up so to sum it up: this guy is a sociopath. So, before I bought book 3, I looked at the reviews and spoilers cause i had this idea in my head that I could just skip books 3 and 4 and read the final book. I ended up reading reviews and spoilers of all 5 books and they all say that nothing ever happens but the same ole, same ole except for some occasional moments that weren't enough. Most never found Dude to be redeemable. And I don't think Book 5 is the last one. For some reason, I think there are supposed to be 7 books? Not sure so don't quote me on that but at $3.00 a pop for around 120 pages...that's 15 bucks for around 600 pages? Nope, not gonna do it. The price of this complete series makes the whole thing lame. Oh and BTW, these are not dark erotica scenes (books 1 and 2 anyway)- these are flat out rape scenes. She gets punched in the face, face fucked (mostly off camera), flat out raped where she ends up going to that not really in my head kind of place (not subspace). These books just aren't worth that kinda money. Most of the reviews I read about the books say that they just hated the main dude and even though reasons are given, it's not enough to redeem him. Obviously, I don't know if that's true or not, just people's opinion. I have actually fallen in love with characters that most people hated so that's not what's keeping me from investing a ridiculous amount of money into a blah series. There is absolutely nothing about this Dude- period. He has long dark hair, owns an empire, hates to wait for people, is narcissistic, likes to beat on chicks, likes to own slaves. That's it. He doesn't have a dog. He doesn't run his hand through his hair. He doesn't clench his hands into fists. He's unreadable. He's a robot. And I just don't give a fuck. *mic drop*-Spoofed Accidentally happened upon this. I have to say I got sucked in really quickly. She builds a story well, the book so far has been extremely well edited, and I am on the edge of my seat for the fourth installation. I'm interested in reading some of her other stuff now as well. My one criticism is that this reads very much like fan fiction of the Consequences trilogy, but those books were pretty enthralling too, so why not?
