This is the story of the hostile takeover of Anheuser Busch by the Brazilian beer behemoth InBev. The writing is adequate but not brilliant, and I would have liked a little more depth around the business side of things as opposed to just the personalities involved, but the story itself is a fascinating one and makes this a worthwhile read. It helps that the author has done her homework, having interviewed almost everyone involved (at least from the Anheuser Busch side.) Pretty good bookGives overview of the company and founding family, the takeover saga and various defense strategies pursued, the pr aspect, and what happened after the merger went through.Pretty well written and easy to read. Really interesting to see the marketing and PR aspects of the merger rather than elaborating on the typical antitrust concerns of a big merger. It was worthwhile reading this book.
Interesting insight into the takeover of AB...a little too technical for my liking, but good
