I devoured Devour Me! I haven't read many erotic stories because most of them are like watching Grade C, XXX rated movies. But Ms. Gow certainly has the dialogue and suspense-building scene writing down pat. There is definitely a good story here, not just eroticism, and the two together are explosive. Now I can't wait to read book 2 in this series. Wow! Taryn and Errol show their vulnerabilities and strengths in this moving story, culminating in a cliff-hanging ending that leaves the reader wanting MORE...and reaching for Book 2 to continue their saga. I can't help comparing this series to another famous one--50 Shades of Grey--that I just can't quit with the first book. I gotta see how this ends! Readers won't be disappointed with this roller coaster ride of a romance. Devour Me by Kailin Gow follows Taryn as she travels from New York City to Paris to study at a world-renowned cooking institute. It is here at the institute that she meets Errol King, who is not only a world famous chef and one of her professors, but he is also young, sexy, and very into Taryn. So, what can go wrong when you have food, sex, and Paris? Oh wait, there’s that small pesky issue of a possible inappropriate teacher-student relationship, but who really cares?Taryn takes on the task of becoming Errol’s assistant and this includes moving into his apartment. There is an obvious attraction between the two of them but it is not immediately acted upon. Gow writes in such a manner that the cat and mouse game that they play with one another is captivating. But, once their relationship does become physical is hot and steamy. “’No other man should hear you laugh the way I do. No other man should please you the way I do. No other man should touch you. I’m the only man, Taryn. ‘His lovemaking had become more ardent. ‘I’m the only man, do you understand me?’”What I appreciate about this book is not only is it erotica, but there is a storyline. The vulnerability and insecurity that Taryn possesses are characteristics that mimic real life. And, on the flip side, the jealousy, the possessiveness, the trust issues, the vulnerability, and sensitivity that Errol exhibits all make him seem like a real man. Devour Me is a book that I finished in one setting and it definitely left me interested and wanting to know what’s next for Taryn and Errol. As, I previously asked, what can go wrong when you have food, sex, and Paris???DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of Devour Me in exchange for an honest review.
