I have been hoping for Seremela's story since she was introduced to the series. I have not been disappointing. Seremela must find her niece who has runway to Devil's Gate. Duncan has volunteered to help her. When they get there things get complicated. Seremela's niece is accused of murder and will hang in the morning. It added great suspense and adventurous feeling to the whole story. I love the connection between Seremela and Duncan. But I'm very curious about the tarot cards, there are many questions surrounding it. I was surprised that I liked this one so much as I didn't care much for the book where the characters popped up in. I really liked Seremela, but hated how her sister walked all over her. I loved how from the start Duncan waded in to help Seremela, of course his attraction didn't hurt. Devil's Gate seemed like a throwback to the Wild West, but a little more scary. I was glad to see that they managed to find help while at Devil's Gate and glad that things didn't take long there. I loved the trip back and how Duncan talked Seremela into their first date.
A bit slow and stilted at the start, a little on the short side, but actually a cute story.

This was a short cute Novella. I felt it wrapped up a little quickly and neatly.
