I cannot express how happy I am that I kept reading this series after the first book, that didn't impress me much. J.T. Ellison has a way of creating a mood and atmosphere. I read this book while in Chicago, and I was shocked each time I left my hotel that I wasn't in Nashville with the weather described in this book.Fortunately, I already have the next book so I won't have to wait to see what happens next. Taylor and Baldwin are characters that just keep growing on me. "The Immortals" is a great mystery with a creepy twist to it. It revolves around the terrifying concept of ritual killings and the cultures of mysticism and witchcraft giving dark sinister feel throughout the book. The bond between the characters is mind blowing at points especially when it comes to the arrest of the sinister culprits that bring shock to a Nashville town. In this installment of the Taylor Jackson series , the emotions are a more raw then in the previous books, as the reader learns a lot more about individual characters, past and present. As Taylor and her team are trying to find an end to this evil plot, Baldwin is fighting his own battle. With all this going on Taylor is still missing a huge part of her life as one of the most important people to her has been kidnapped by an sadistic killer who is making her life a living nightmare.Though this book was a wonderful installment to the series it was not my favorite. It was one of the slower moving books and it jumped around a bit to much from Taylor's story to Baldwin's without tying it together, causing a little confusion on what was going on. However, despite these qualms, I look forward to reading the next installment, i just hope it is a more action packed to further my enjoyment in the series.
