I love stories that deal with conspiracy, whenever I read, Bilderbergers, Skull and Bones, instantly I think Illuminati and this book has it all in this sequel to “The Sultan of Monte Cristo,” authored by the mysterious, Holy Ghost Writer. “That Girl Started Her Own Country” is inspired on the death of a Swedish investigator author. This book is filled with a maze of clues and colorful characters, such as famed attorney, Alan Dershowitz. It is a roller coaster of intrigue and international plots, with plenty of courtroom drama. One of the interesting aspects is the book is full of clues that a contest is offered for the one who can guess the actual identity of the author, a prize of $2500 will be awarded. So if you love, great mystery, and fast paced storytelling then look no further. There are plenty more where this came from! The best part is, the book stands alone and doesn’t need to be read in order. 5 stars. Being a fan of Holy Ghost Writer, I had relished every word of The Sultan of monte Cristo and I only hoped that this famed writer comes out with an equally fantastic novel, if not better. But the scribe has taken everyone by surprise with his new thriller on the block, “The Girl Started her own country”, which promises to be one of his best ever. As a welcome move this thriller presents Zaydee a woman as the leading character in this novel. If you are expecting a traditional, docile character, well! You are in for a big surprise. Zaydee is Feminist world’s wildest dream come true. She is creativity and mystique personified, as she stubbornly refuses to disclose her identity to FBI sleuths. They are fored to name her –Princess Jand Doe. Zaydee acts as the guarding angel for the investigative journalist Steven larson who is caught in the eye of the Bilderber Group storm. No prizes for guessing that Steven is the love interest of Zaydee.One can’t help admiring the distinct narrative style of Holy Ghost Writer. It keeps the readers get into the thick of the action. Besides this novel has unique characteristics of being dipped in modernity without loosing its antique charm. Well if you are looking for a Thriller in the real sense of the word- The Girl started her own country is a perfect potboiler for you.
