Ryan leaves and Ansley stays around. We talk a bit longer. She asks what’s happening with my dad’s business. She’s always concerned that we’ll move to some mansion far away now that he’s making serious money. “I think it’s growing every day. At dinner he talks to mom about the larger companies that are signing on with him.” “That’s awesome.” “It only means he’ll be home even less than he is now. But I’m used to it, so no biggie.” We are sitting across from each other.
