I was given this book for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book! The story had many complex life issues and kept me interested the whole time. I didn’t want to put it down until I was finished. During this story you are transported into the world of politics, which is very rigid and intense. The characters experience many feelings that include regret, guilt, sorrow, indecision, peace and love. At times I was so frustrated that I wanted to scream at them, because they seemed to make everything look way too difficult. You get to see how one decision can have a very wide ripple effect. In this book many factors are involved in one decision that ends up altering one character’s life and career. I became very fond of the main characters and was greatly entertained by the secondary characters. This group of friends was one that I could see myself having a great time with, despite the fact that I don’t find politics of great interest. I was happy at the end of the book and would recommend it for a great one day read. Disclosure of the Heart is such an emotional journey of true love finding it's way home. No true love is never easy nor is it hard but at times it can be a journey of self discovery and realization that the heart wants what the heart wants and no one or no thing can stand in it's way. To say that this story had me on pins and needles is such an understatement because at times I loved it and at times I hated it. That is why Mary gets five million stars for me because I know what it feels like to love someone and have them only to lose them and they reappear in my life again. This is Adam and Nicki's story that continues from Beside Your Heart. In Beside Your Heart we got to see Nicki and Adam's friendship build into a relationship that ended because Adam did something to Nicki that broke her heart. As we followed on their journey of friendship and then relationship to having nothing and seeing Nicki's heart broken it was quite the journey. Nicki had her heart broken but she was determined to have a career and that is what she did. She focused on schooling and became the Deputy Press Secretary for The President. This is a prestigious job and she has worked her ass off for it and she was able to acquire it.Along the way to Nicki getting the perfect job she has sheltered her heart because of the hurt she experienced with Adam. With her heart hidden behind walls she slowly lets her guard down when she meets Juan Carlos. Lord I loved me some Juan Carlos because I thought he was right for her. He did not rush things and he did not push her. No Juan Carlos loved her even when at times it seemed she couldn't give him back the same thing. Then Nicki gets the shock of a lifetime when Adam comes in as BBC's White House Correspondent. When Adam sees Nicki he knows he wants her and he is willing to do whatever it takes to get her back. Adam knows in his heart that she is the one for him and he is determined to have her back in his bed and in his arms. When he realizes she is with Juan Carlos it does not deter him from pursuing her it only makes his hackles get up and fight harder for her. The question that kept coming up for me when I realized Adam was not going to stop pursuing Nicki until he had her was why did he wait 16 years to decide he wanted her? Why go through all those girls and relationships and years and then just decide she is the one? Man I am not going to lie but that did piss in my cereal. So in the end the lines have been drawn and the decision will be up to Nicki. Will she choose Juan Carlos or will she go back to her hearts desire Adam Kincaid?
Totally rethinking my initial assessment. I really hated Nicki through this book. She was incredibly selfish and if I were Adam, I'd have kicked her to the curb. I also feel it necessary to comment on some of the racial stereotyping I felt was prevalent through the book. The comment about Al Jazeera particularly bothered me. Has the author ever watched Al Jazeera English or Al Jazeera America? Those would likely be the folks interested in reporting from the White House, and since I know some of those reporters I can vouch for the fact that they are passionate, fair reporters in real life. I'm actually lowering my review to two stars because this bothers me so much.

I was rooting for Nikki and Adam since book 1 and I felt like this book did a good job at bringing them back in to each other's lives.I felt like the working for the president career was a little over the top. There was so much going on, that I felt that was a little unbelievable. I also didn't like the love triangle with Juan Carlos. It didn't add anything to the story and honestly, kinda lowered my opinion of Nikki. Overall though, I adored watching them redefine their relationship and learning about each other all over again.

Está bien, pero esperaba un poco más. Había potencial para sacarle más provecho a la historia.
