I'm not sure how to explains this book. It was disturbing and yet I couldn't put it down! I don't usually read dark romance like this but have been in a funk to find something to read. The slavery part made me sick but she never broke. Never gave up in hope for a better future. The ending wasn't as flush as I would have liked, a little to rushed. Guy didn't grow enough for me. But once again, even as disturbed as I was I still liked this book. I enjoyed this book overall. The first 20% was tough to read, sex trafficking and abuse. However, it was an essential background to the premise for the story. Lena is a young woman, abused and sold to the highest bidder for whatever he wants. Guy, the 'beast character' is a man deformed by injury and hiding more than just his face. This was twisted desire and affection but there was substance to their relationship. A good, solid 4 star read.
