Eight Twenty Eight: When Love Didn't Give Up (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
What a beautiful couple, beautiful story, and beautiful love. I am so happy to have read this book, I can't imagine going through what either Larissa or Ian have and continue to go through, but the two of them are doing it with grace and are such an example of love and never giving up just because times get difficult. I went on Youtube and watched a few recent interviews and it was the perfect way to end reading the book. The only way this book could have been better was if there was more of division of when the story was "going back in time". Maybe just a date at the beginning of the flashback (I think this would be best) or using italics, really anything to set those times apart. This wasn't a big deal, just a suggestion. Larissa Murphy says she wrote this book not to boast about herself, but to help other people and help marriages. While reading this book, you cannot help yourself but feel admiration for this girl who put her dreams on hold to follow a narrow path God wanted her to walk through. But also while reading this book you look at yourself and analyse your own heart in your relationship/marriage. So she nailed it! You embark on a journey that will lead you to God's strength, power and everlasting love. It's a page turner. (Only down side, sometimes a little repetitive and some parts are too long in length).
