First off, this is not what I was expecting. I was expecting a long-form graphic novel of just the Screw-On Head, but it turned out to be a short comic about the Screw-On Head and a bunch of other short comics.Everything was very well drawn, and the stories were well written. I loved the Screw-On Head story and the one with the bean-stalk. All the stories are a little strange and creepy, but I think that's what the author was going for.I would definitely like to see more of the Screw-On Head character at some point. I didn't get it. I guess some people like it and maybe they are Mike Mignola fans. I've never read anything by him and am kind of sorry I actually bought this one. I wish I had my money back. It was perfectly well drawn but it seemed clear that Mignola was just fooling around and tossing out whatever weird stuff came into his head. I guess it would be nice to indulge yourself that way. Or maybe there's a whole series of stories that set this collection up. I'm not aware of them. The only story that kind of made sense to me was "Abu Gung and the Beanstalk."
love it. mignolia is so fun, no matter what he's working on. this is complete fun.
