Este libro lo encontré más o menos el año pasado, paseando por una librería en el Centro Histórico del D.F, me llamó la atención la portada y después de leer la sinopsis, quise comprarlo pero no lo hice. Fue más o menos un par de meses después que conseguí adquirirlo pero no lo empecé enseguida.Cuando finalmente comencé a leerlo, descubrí que era el tercer libro de una saga y me puse a pensar que probablemente necesitaría leer los primero dos primero y que lo había comprado sin enterarme bien antes. Pero a fin de cuentas, pude comprenderlo muy bien sin tener que leer los otros dos, aunque sí quiero conseguirlos.Me interesó (más que por la portada) porque quiero estudiar derecho y/o criminología, así que el que las protagonistas estuvieran en ése medio me gustó mucho y me hizo tener una perspectiva diferente a la que tenía gracias a todas las series de televisión (policíacas) que me gusta ver. No es precisamente un libro totalmente sobre la investigación que hacen las tres mujeres, sino que toca también temas personales de ellas y de el criminal en cuestión (quien, por cierto, tiene una psicología muy interesante).Uno de mis libros favoritos, a pesar de que lo leí por pedazos y casi en el lapso de dos o tres meses. Lis Wiehl co-wrote with April Henry The Triple Threat Club novels, which follow three fiercely intelligent women—a TV reporter, a Federal prosecutor and an FBI agent. At first sight, theft and arson seem to be the trick of a man, Joe. His youth was devoted to setting fire and discovery the powers of ignition. Now he’s bound by the commands of the gorgeous, but psychopathic Elizabeth Avery (“Sissy”). She orders to murder several people in what appears to be random killings. When Elizabeth kills a young young tv reporter, and let her dead body dump, her crime catches the attention of Federal Prosecutor Allison Pierce, FBI Special Agent Nicole Hedges, and crime reporter Cassidy Shaw.Several storylines, and additional male and female actors enter this whodunnit. Who’s next on Elizabeth’s list and will everyone be able to cover up what he or she’s done? Like a true crime novel private and business context are interrelated and give the characters their human traits in Heart of Ice. Can they stop Elizabeth before she reaches her unthinkable, ultimate end-goal? I enjoyed reading it, though the tension’s is never that high, that you can’t put away the book. Written with some Christian and supernatural elements in it, you won’t find explicit language or indecencies. I think some more real-life details like anger, lust and jealousy are certainly missing to make Heart of Ice a real thriller.
