I am not really sure what I think of this book. It's well-written, has an interesting storyline and some great characters but...I wasn't sure what it was that bugged me until the end. There was a not so subtle monologue about children of illegal aliens and then I knew what it was. Not only was the political "preaching" a little heavy-handed, it "felt" like a book by two different authors. Some of the story seemed to come from a fairly conservative viewpoint and then there would be these... moments where it felt like a liberal infomercial. They also seemed forced. We only get the illegal alien angle from two short encounters with a small child following a terrorism scare. It wasn't integral to the plot or the main characters. If it's a cause important to one or both of the authors, I think it would be better aided by a story featuring an illegal prominently. I do enjoy this series. This is definitely a woman's series as some of the discussions are ones men would not appreciate. I find it interesting that the heroine women are not strong individual characters. It is only together that they are able to solve the murder of the talk show host. That happens after one of them does a dumb thing. I would rather see stronger women but I can see that the strength of the women comes from the support of the others.
Terrible book! Stupid characters! Contrived plot! Boo/Hiss
