Wow this book is soooooo amazing I couldn't stop crying and I almost never cry , it has to say something !!! I think Ryan dealt with an issue that I personally find extremely important and that is how society reacts to people with difficulties or that are different from what is "normal" .Homosexuality, Tourette syndrome and brain trauma in this case , but the bottom line is that love can be found by anyone , and seeing it happened in this book made my heart filled with joy and hope !!! thank you Ryan for this wonderful book . I loved this book. There has been much discussion about the difference between Ethan and Carter's mental age. For me, it wasn't such a big deal. Ethan has a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and, as a consequence, has suffered brain damage. He had to relearn all of his basic daily needs again - how to walk, talk, eat etc. It also left him with various inhibitions ie pulling his penis out in public. He didn't realise, until his mother sat him down and told him to only do this in his own bedroom, that this was inappropriate behaviour. He was able learn though that he wasn't to do this. I found him to be very simplistic in his thinking - not to be confused with child like. He saw things in black and white, right or wrong. He was a 27 year old with a man's desire for a relationship and sex. Carter was lovely. He was virtually a hermit due to his tourettes. Ethan just broke into his world and pulled him outside of this house into a new bright lifestyle. There were issues along the way, but they managed to deal with them together. Another character I really loved was Elliott. He was an adolescent teenager who has having difficulties accepting his brother as he was. I loved that they sat together and wrote a song. I loved how Elliott stood up for both Ethan and Carter at different times through the story.Great read!

A beautiful read about two men who find out they're perfect for each other. Just gorgeous.
