When I discovered this author, I missed this title and am I glad I found it again. Her quiet style appeals greatly and her characters are provided with the kind of detail that encourages the reader to care about them and to root for them as they deal with crises large and small.The lighthouse itself becomes a character through the diary entries the main characters discover in a variety of places, suggesting the presence of a spirit or ghost who doesn't frighten but rather whispers at a previous life and love.A great summer read!
