Fatale, Volume 1: Death Chases Me (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
Wow.Ed Brubaker is a writer that I fallow. He's good. So far I have enjoyed everything that I have read from him....Wow.Sean Phillips is giving all that he has for this. So far, Sean is doing all that he can to keep you turning the pages.... it's working.Oh, I guess you want to know what the story is about..... well, I'm not gonna spoil it for you.... Pick up this trade and read it, but don't read it late at night...read it when the sun is out, and when you feel safe.....This Is Good~! I love noir stories. And this one is a noir story with something extra, something supernatural. This book made me want to read Brubaker and Phillips other colaborations (Sleeper, Criminal and Incognito). I like how the story jumps back and forth from the "present" to the 1950's and back. Great artwork, the colors work hand in hand with the story, a lot of dark tones and great use of shadows. I constantly found myself asking if Jo was bad or good. If you can put it in those terms. Is she bad or does she just as the rest of the main characters have bad things happen to her?I don't know and I'm going to read the next volume to answer those questions. If you are into noir stories, this is deinitely something worth checking out.
