I got the ARC version of this book from the author. I first became a fan after reading the Revenge Series and Blueshoes Series. I was thrilled when I got the email letting me know that I could read this for an honest review. I enjoyed the story very much so. As a fan of MMA it was nice to read more about a sport that I actually like. I Loved Parker.I will mention that for a man who has a daughter that he hasn't seen in over two years sure did everything he could to make sure he was able to make it to Lily for her birthday. I know that took a lot of courage to go to where she live with her mom Maddie and Aunt Delores. I felt bad for Parker because of the way that his daughter's Aunt Delores tried to make him feel.I can understand why she was that way. But I mean come on now give the guy a chance. He finally grew up and decided it was time to make things right and do what was best. His daughters mother Maddie... At first I really didn't like her. I thought that she was a bitch and that Parker should just cut his losses with her and concentrate on his daughter Lily. On Lily's birthday he did the sweetest thing for her. And this is where I was starting to not like Maddie more and more. The way she reacted to gift he got Lily was so uncalled for. She didn't want him telling his daughter what he did for a living. Its not like he was a drug dealer. He just does what he knows. At least he makes money and able to send money each month to her to take care of Lily. But as I got to know Maddie I knew why she ran from the get go. It didn't give her rights to do it without saying good bye but once I knew how she felt then I started to think maybe they could work out and have what they need for their sakes and Lily's. Now back to Parker... I hope everything that he wants to happen between proposing to Maddie and getting a home for them to officially become a family happens for him. Everyone deserves a chance and I hope from what I read that it happens considering at the end he promised her she wouldn't have to see something that broke the before she had Lily. I am looking forward to reading the next book and continuing the story. JJ Knight has nailed it again with this first part of the story on Parker. I love how one gets drawn into the scene just reading it. Parker was first seen in Uncaged Love where he had his eyes on Jo without knowing that Jo was with Colt. If you haven't read Uncaged Love you should check definitely check it out.Parker has made a few too many mistakes, one that resulted in Jo being injured and Colt almost losing his life (in Uncaged Love) but he's trying hard to be a better person, a better fighter for the sake of Lily and Maddie. He hasn't been in Lily's life for 4 years. Lily has since grown bigger and is wanting more connection with Parker. Parker realizes how much he's missing out and he wants to do more for Lily and Maddie that he will do whatever it takes to get back into their lives.And of course, the story ended with a cliffhanger... It wouldn't be a JJ Knight's book otherwise. I'm sure this is going to be another exciting and engaging story and I look forward to reading the rest.I was gifted an advance copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.
