Forest is not a place she is a hybrid from her world, the world of Regia. However she has been cast from society due to the fact that she is half breed Shifter/Elf. She continually has to fight for any respect she can get. In her youth a vampire noble set his mark on her making her obey him no matter what. That is why she has taken to Earth where she can use her skills as a warrior to enforce Regia’s laws, which are very clear about no vampires allowed to earth. Taking enjoyment in refusing the vampire that has control over her to have no control at all. She gets pulled home for a special Ops mission where she is required to put aside her own prejudice to transport the vampire Prince Syrus through enemy territory in a time of war. There are a few issues that have to be addressed. One, they don’t trust each other. Two, Syrus is blind. Three, Syrus is an adversary opponent. Four, they have an attraction that runs deeper then both of their heritage. When they see the truth for the first time… Forest is still forbidden. Forest, a strong willed heroine, an outsider in a world with werewolves, elves, shade-shifters, ogres, wizards and vampires (the thing she hates the most). Syrus, is a vampire prince, on a sort of secret mission with Forest as his protector/guide. The first time they meet, it is intense. Apparently Forest finds Syrus attractive - shocker. "She stared openly at Syrus as though her brain could not process the information her eyes were sending to it. Desire. Admiration of beauty. Objection. Hate. Forest’s hatred of vampires snapped through her body. She hated him." I wonder what happens next...The characters were good. Forests character was the most developed and grew the most throughout the book. The pacing of the book was okay. It was a slow start, but as I continued to read it became easier, interesting and fun to read. There is a small twist at the end, which is making me really want to read the next book, (which is soo going to happen).
What do You think about Forbidden Forest (2012)?
This was a really good fantasy book! I really enjoyed reading about the world and the romance.
