Force Out (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

The main characters in the book are Joey, Zack, Mr. Kratz, and Joey’s Mom. Joey and Zack are both really good little league players. Zack has a field trip and he is determined to play in the little league championship game that day. So the night ahead he cuts the fuel line so his teacher Mr. Kratz’s could not go to the field trip. Meanwhile Zack distracts the dog with meat. In this meat there is prescription medicine, this gets the dog sick. They play together in the championship, but Joey’s mom is a cop so she is investigating the case. She keeps on getting closer and closer, while the two boys are starting to compete for the all-star team. Joey is really good at science and Mr. Kratz said if anyone aced is final he would grant them 1 wish. Joey does this and is worrying what he should do [this is determined by if his mom finds out]. Joey’s mom finds out and is really mad. She tells him to go apologies. When he is there he gets granted the wish to not be charged. I would totally recommend this book to anyone. It is not just because I like baseball it is because of the theme of it, fess up don't wait till when you get caught. Force Out is a great book with lots of baseball action! Best friends Joey and Zach thought they would always play ball together. Suddenly when there is only one spot on the select team for the Little League World Series, their friendship is put to the test. If you love books about friendship, but especially if you love baseball, this book is for you. One of my favorite passages is:"Coach V turned his burning eyes on Joey so that he blinked. "What's your goal?" "To make the select team," Joey said. "Okay, what about after that? Ten years from now?" Joey stammered, "The m-majors, I guess." "You guess? You'll never make it if you have to guess. It has to burn in your gut like a disease you can't shake."
