I'm not sure what I think about this story, I really want to like it but there is something holding me back from buying book 2. I think it's the writing style, sometimes it just read as childish to me. That and Jessica I had issues with her. One minute she's going along stumbling with her new wolfy-self the next she thinks she the pack Alpha or something with the way she acts. Maybe that goes along with the childish writing. It was a good story and I expect that I will get the second installment to to find out what happens. A few things made this a DNF for me. I didn't like the narrator's voice for the main character. Because it was a 1st person POV story, I kept hearing that. To the narrator's credit, her voices with accents (except Roarke) were good. This voice is more appropriate to YA titles, not (new) adult fiction. Then I started to have problems with the writing. The main character was a hot head, but not for any compelling reason. The childish narration didn't help me understand that. I disliked all the name mentions. That won't be a deal-breaker for all readers, but it became annoying to me. Also, the story when the vampires showed up actually lost my interest instead of increasing it.I will be taking the other 2 volumes off my Audible wishlist straight away. Even though I like Therese Plummer as a narrator, I don't know that she can do much with the source material if the author's writing stays at the same level of quality.
What do You think about Full Blooded (2012)?
I really liked this book, but I hate cliffhangers! Got this book free from goodreads first reads.
