The only reason I dropped a star for this book was then ending. I'm not going to spoil the plot here but it was one of those horrendously annoying cliffhanger type endings which infuriate me. I would like to read more, but it narked me that the author was forcing me to by ending the book rather shoddily. Other than that, the characters were all brilliant and I would like to read more about Roarke. It was a slightly different approach to popular werewolf novels. I'm a huge fan of Patrica Briggs's 'Mercy Thompson' series--which frankly transcends its genre--and was excited to hear about a new addition to the world of werewolf fiction. I really, really wanted to like the 'Blooded' series. Unfortunately the writing is extremely poor and the plot/premise, while it has potential, is just not strong enough to get around it. The Sookie Stackhouse series, for example, is one example of dubious writing skills in books nonetheless salvaged by entertaining plots. I'm sad to say that this book has no redeeming features and I do not understand its popularity. Books like this lower the standard of the genre.
What do You think about Sang Nouveau (2013)?
Great book but the narrator had a lot to be desired. Different reader would have been great.
