This is the eleventh book in the Scrapbooking Mystery Series by Laura Childs. Memory Mine store owner, Carmela Bertrand and her friend Ava attend a "Get Out of Jail" party for Garden District socialites Margo and Jerry Earl Leland. Jerry Earl is release from prison early for some white collar crimes. At the big party, Carmela goes to find a towel after Ava spills on her outfit. Instead she finds Jerry Earl dead in the dryer of their home. Margo asks Carmela to help look into who killed Jerry Earl in addition to the police investigation that is being carried out by Detective Gallant. Ava and Carmela find themselves chancing down all kinds of clues as to why Jerry Earl was murdered. Gilt Trip by Laura Childs is the 11th book in her Scrapbooking mystery series. Carmela is once again caught up in murder when she discovers the body of businessman Jerry Earl Leland stuffed in a clothes dryer at a party celebrating his recent release from prison for fraud. With her reputation for solving crimes, Carmela is asked by the widow to help figure out who murdered her husband. This is one of my favourite series and each book provides a familiar cosy read and I can't wait to catch up with Carmela and her friends again. Scrapbooking tips and recipes are included.
Excellent book. I always enjoy Carmela and her scrapbooking shop in New Orleans.
