I am so disappointed, Amy did not live up to her standard. I cannot believe that the same person who wrote Promise Rock, wrote this... Pile of rubbish. The characters didn't have that deep connection and that deep vibe of ' best friends ' that they should of, the connection if you write it well should be established on page 1. I had to FORCE myself to finish this book, it just didn't connect.Jace was a twiney ass, who was just... Ridiculous. Quent, I loved but they just didn't have that 'BOOM' connection for me. I don't know this book just didn't work for me, I found it boring, and hard to read. I highly recommend Promise Rock to become a fan of Amy's but this book, only read it if you like the drizzly kind of book that doesn't take hold of you, or the characters and you don't get annoyed with grammatical errors. This is a great read. I really enjoyed it. I kept expecting drama and liked the fact that there was very little. The poker analogies got old very quick. But the thing that drive me crazy... If Jase is wider and build like a linebacker.. and Quent is taller and built like a swimmer... there is NO WAY that Quent could wear Jase's suits!!! I know it is petty.. but he would look like a kid in a suit too short but yet to big. ANYWAY.. it was a very cute story.
What do You think about Giocatori D'azzardo (2014)?
The poker metaphors got to be a bit much, but it was an enjoyable read.
