God's Double Agent: The True Story Of A Chinese Christian's Fight For Freedom (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
This book was both heartbreaking and up-lifting at the same time. The stories with in this book were heartbreaking because stuff like the things told in this book shouldn’t happen to people in countries that say they have the ‘Freedom of Religion’. The people mentioned in this book went through so much because of what they believed in. They were persecuted and tortured to the extreme and at times executed for believing in Jesus and becoming Christians. It brought tears to my eyes at times and made me realize how slack ‘American Christians’ are in they’re Christianity. We don’t seem to realize that living a Christian life is hard and at times life taking, not a bed of red roses or whatever other flower you prefer. This book was also up-lifting as it told of miracles happening. God does still answer the prayers of his children and sends little, or large, miracles to them to show that He is there and that He does care.I really hope that you decide to read this book. You won’t regret it, I know I didn’t. You will be encouraged and be brought to tears as you read the stories of Chinese Christians who still don’t have absolute freedom to worship as they want. great book! read very smoothly, as if is a fiction story and not a biography! actually, since i only just opened the book on my Kindle and never looked at the cover, I actually did think it was fiction for the whole beginning of the book until certain obvious clues gave it away. Has greatly increased my interest in China's government, and has opened my eyes to some problems there I didn't know existed.
