I listened to this book, and this book suffered from a bad narration....and the narration suffered from bad writing. The story line wasn't bad, but it wasn't super. The attempt at sexual tension and banter between the characters and the love triangle was disappointing at best. The lines were just cheezy. Not planning on reading any more in the series, and only gave it 2 stars because I figure if I can manage to finish the book, then it must deserve 2 stars. This book is all about a woman, Kendall, who can see things, but doesn't call herself a Psychic. She has an crazy adventure with two men who want to protect her even though she doesn't want it. One is her boss, one is her bodyguard. Danger, mystery, questions, intrigue, attraction, headbutting. Who is the Reaper? Does he want to kill them? Where are the relics they need to find and protect? What is wrong with her boss, Nathan? Why does she feel connected to Nathan? Who is he really? Does Jake really want her or her body? What secrets is Jake holding back from her? That's the questions that she struggles with.I so loved watching the female lead character be tough and the relationship between her and the men slowly grow. The story was nicely flowed from start to end. I was rooting for her. After finishing this book, I immediately bought Book 2, just to see what happened with the love interest. I wasn't disappointed either. I like books who are about the adventure with a bit of romance, not the opposite. If you do too, you will like this!
