This sweet little short had me cracking up when I first started reading it- disgruntled tax guy trying to do paperwork while oblivious hotty construction guy jack-hammers concrete out by the street. Then it slipped into one of my favorite scenarios. I just love those stories when the a guy from a small town heads off to the big city and then comes home to find his roots again.Being a short read, it still had time to develop the background and characters of Kevin and Liam. I enjoyed how Kevin's story was written. He grows from being a snotty guy who can't wait to shake off the dust of his small hometown to get back to his life in LA, but in the end he's not stupid and really looks at himself and his motives. Liam was a cutie. He was such a tease and so right for Kevin. All in all, I loved the short story and can easily recommend it. Well, Kevin certainly had his grump on as he went about the assignment in his old hometown. I could empathize with his being distracted by the construction work outside, but I’ve never been as lucky with having an old acquaintance turn out to be so worth the distraction! Liam sounds entirely delicious and I’m looking forward to more of him in the next installment of this wonderful set of freebies. Thank you!
What do You think about Half-Baked Promises (2013)?
Not nearly long enough. It was a cute story. Well written.
