In order to defeat 'He-whose-prices-can't-be-beat' (aka Valuemart), Harry Potty must take up his plunger and destroy the horbucks that keep Valuemart alive. Joined by his friends, Whiny Stranger and Don Measley, will he be able to triumph? or will he keep getting confused about which movie he's in? (even after Whiny catches him up on the previous 6 books since Harry didn't bother to read them)and after a quick recap of Harry's previous 6 books - since he didn't bother to read them).I am not a fan of potty humour, but I can see where plenty of kids would find this hilarious. I did enjoy how Harry's scar changes each time you and how the final panel of the first 5 summaries are very much like those pictures in the comic section where you have to find the five differences. Ultimately this book is not for me, but reading is reading and I think there's a wide audience who'll get a kick out of this. Favourite spell: licencus lucas - summons Yoda who breaks up a fight saying "teach you proper English I will!" Graphic NovelSetting: This book had multiple setting and was introducing many different characters throughout the book however the main characters stayed consistent threw the entire novel. This book pieced together a few stories to summarize a series of books and then gave more detail for the last book. The characters were humerus at times and the conflict and resolution were very easy to identify. Critique: I believe this story fallows the literary standards for the most part. The characters are very clear about how they feel about their surrounding and the problems that they are faced in the novel. There really isn't any reality in this story it is mostly fantasy with a twist of humor. There is definitely joy from reading this book I believe that it was written for that purpose and even when the characters get into some sticky situations you have to keep reading because you want to know what is happening next. Response: I thought this book was okay. I like the original much better however there were some funny parts and i really liked that it was an easy read and it went fairly fast. I would definitely have a copy of this in my classroom library to give my students a variety of different books however I would only use it for free time or silent reading time.
