“Haunted Castle on Hollows Eve” was an interesting book to read. Jack and Anne go into a castle with their friend Teddy. When they get to the castle they discover that there is no one else there. They go into a room with a spinning wheel, as well as a game of chess. No one is there playing the game of chess or spinning the wheel. The group thinks it is a ghost till the children tell them how the Diamond of Destiny was stolen by the Raven King. Jack, Annie, and Teddy help the Raven King get what he wants and help the children get their diamond back. This book has two main characters Jack and his sister Anne who work together to solve the mystery. They also have a friend Teddy who helps them to solve the mystery. Jack is always more cautious than his little sister Annie. The Story starts off in Jack and Anne’s hometown but then moves to a medieval castle. The exact time is unknown however the cattle is in medieval times during Hollows Eve which is modern day Halloween. The theme of this book is that everything is not what it always looks like. Jack and Anne think that the castle is haunted, when really the castle has people in it that need help. I would recommend this book to younger children, because it is easy and fun to read. Children would also like this book because the mystery is easy to understand. I liked this book because Jack and Anne saved the day and gave everybody what they wanted.

What do You think about Haunted Castle On Hallow's Eve (2003)?

In the thirtieth installment of Mary Pope Osborne's popular Magic Treehouse series, Merlin contacts Jack and Annie near Halloween, asking them to help him solve the mystery of a haunted castle. Castle is a fast paced, suspenseful read that will entertain young readers as they improve their reading skills. This slim volume would not prove to be intimidating to even the most nervous reader. Murdocca's abundant pen and ink illustrations will be comforting to children as they make their transition from easy readers to chapter books. Two-page illustrated spreads are common and reminiscent of a picture book. The main plot concerns ghosts so be prepared for some mild thrills, although the scary parts are age appropriate. A good selection for a Halloween themed book display. Recommended for purchase in elementary schools and public libraries.

Jack and Annie, with a young magician named Teddy, find the castle and discover that it is inhabited by four ghosts-a girl, twin boys, and a dog. The ghosts communicate to the three that the problem is the stolen diamond, that it must be retrieved, and that the Raven King has it. The children find and retrieve the diamond, revive the ghosts and their sleeping household, and give the Raven King what his heart most desires. I like this book becuse i enjoy books of mystery and suspence. throughout the whole story, it keeps you guessing what will happen next. this would be a grwat book for 3-5 grades.

The book “Haunted Castle on Hallow’s Eve” was a good book. It was good because a couple young kids go and set out on a mission by Merlin to the castle of Camelot. This is a great story about bravery and knowledge. Jack, Annie, and Teddy would have to show both bravery and knowledge to try and defeat the Raven King. I liked this story because Jack, Annie, and Teddy would have to defy all odds to finish their mission. I would recommend this story to elementary kids learning to read because it is a really easy read.
