Dear Dr Leman,To be honest, it was really spooky reading your book and seeing so many of my husband's traits described on the pages. I mean, I really had thought when he told me that I'm his only/best friend that he couldn't possibly mean it, that maybe he was exaggerating for emphasis. I was really skeptical when I first picked this book up (which I only did because it was available for Kindle FOR FREE and a friend of mine strongly and adamantly insisted that I really ought to grab it and read it, despite my many and various reasons for why I don't need a book like this.) I was still ready to take it all with a grain of salt when I finally decided to open it nearly a year later. I wanted to be able to say it was all silliness, that it wasn't applicable, perhaps even that it was backwards advice and a woman who is as self-actualized as most modern women are needn't heed the advice inside, but I can't. I admit that I found myself nodding in agreement. I admit that I read what you had to say and thought to myself, "Yeah, that's pretty logical. It certainly couldn't hurt to give that a try."So, I will. I've read this, and I'm going to actually give this stuff a genuine, honest to goodness, real effort try. Because it makes sense, because it reminds me of what our relationship was like before we had kids and before things got complicated. Because I, too, believe in mutual submission, and I know that my husband does, too.I'm going to reserve my stars until after I've had some time to put this into practice, but I admit you gave me a lot of food for thought, Dr. Leman, and I'm even betting you're right. To be fair, I did not start with a husband. In fact, I may be done with husbands altogether—the jury's still out on that one. But if I ever get one, and the stuff in this book is what I need to do to keep him, I'm not going to have him for long. [Read for free on my Kindle.
