He Perdido MIS Calcetines! (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
This is a children’s book written by Eve Bunting about a little duck who seems to have lost his new blue socks. The pictures in the first few pages really describe where the duck is looking for his socks. The ducks facial expressions are also shown in great detail in the story. I believe this is because the author wants the reader to know and understand how the little duck is feeling about his missing socks. The story goes on with the duck asking his friends if they have seen his new blue socks. One thing I noticed about this book is there are rhyming words, which are great to keep the reader engaged. The story continues on with the duck looking and looking for his new socks, until the end when he realizes they are on his feet the whole time. The story shows great examples of friendships and the colors in the story are drawing to the eye. The main picture focus is on the duck who is looking for his socks. This shows the main character, and his problems. I would say this book is good for ages six to eight. The rhymes are great in the classroom and can be used for a simple lesson using words like box, socks, and fox. Great book overall! This book is very unique in which it rhymes. The pictures are mostly simple, and have a painting texture. This book is about a duck that lost his new blue socks. He asked his friend the fox and the ox if they knew where it was. Saddened, he was the peacocks if they saw his sock. They asked where he last used his socks. Looking down, they found the new blue socks on his feet! The duck was thrilled to have found his new blue socks. The images in this book were very intriguing. I loved the fact that he went through a long journey only to find that he did not really have to look anywhere at all.
