I've read Jennifer Apodaca's Samantha Shaw Mystery series, which I enjoyed a lot, so I know she can write a great character. I didn't know what to expect from her romance, and I was pleasantly surprised.By Chapter 3, I was in love with Logan and couldn't put the book down. A little racy in parts, however I was reading at the airport and on an airplane so I was just slightly embarrassed reading some scenes, but it was a good racy. :) I haven't been reading much lately, so for me to pick up a book and finish it in 24hrs.... I'd say, Very well done. I enjoyed everything about it. Becky is scared and alone and needs a place to go. Her abusive ex is threatening to take away her baby and she has no family to go to since her mom recently passed away. She calls her boss who arranges for her to hide out at her cousin's place while he is away.Logan comes home to find a woman and a baby in his house. Despite the memories they bring up for him, he agrees to let them stay once Becky agrees to marry him so that he can retain his land. She agrees when he offers to help her win the custody battle for her baby. Both Becky and Logan struggle with brokenness, but together they begin to heal and fall in love. I so adored Becky. She is a warrior momma who will do whatever it takes to protect her little one. She falls for Logan, but doesn't trust it because of her ex. She pushes past that and just loves him big. She is super sweet and wants to take care of everyone in her life.Logan suffered from PTSD and not only was he finding a way to deal with it himself but to help others through it as well. Can I just say that he also does really well in the naughty talking department. Really well. And the moment he first holds Sophia on the horse...swoon worthy for sure.I give Her Temporary Hero 4 hearts!
