LOVE this author's work! She does a lot of research to make her books authentic. I accidentally read the sequel to this book first but it didn't make too much of a difference. I still enjoyed every minute. She even developed a great Scottish accent so that she could record the audiobook! Although the covers look as though the book could contain some less than God-honoring material, it is a pure, educational, and non-fantastical story.
What do You think about Here Burns My Candle (2010)?
A little difficult deciphering the Scottish accent written in but a very good story.
