Hilarity Ensues (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

I remember when I was in high school and absolutely everyone was reading IHTSBIH. I waited until I was either a sophomore or junior in college to finally read it. Which was probably for the best, because while I would have been amused in high school, a lot of it would have gone over my head. Anywho, I finally read the book. I found it enjoyable enough, but mostly I rolled my eyes. I couldn't believe this guy was a National Bestseller for just being a huge jerk. (This turns out to be totally irrelevant because Snookie is a National Bestseller, and I hate life.)Hilarity Ensues is different because it made me actually like Tucker Max. After reading the book, I have this weird sort of respect/affection for him as a person and the way he's chosen to live his life, as well as communicate about his life. I think this makes him an a-okay writer at the end of everything. Tucker Max's books have always been a guilty pleasure. It's like watching "Teen Mom." You know you should turn the channel, but you kind of want to see what happens next. While reading this book, I could tell the tone and self reflection had improved vastly from "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell." The epilogue quite possibly restored my faith in men. If you hate Tucker Max, at least read the last chapter of "Hilarity Ensues." It might just change your mind, or at least turn the hatred to a lower form of disgust.

What do You think about Hilarity Ensues (2012)?

Pretty much the funniest book I've ever read. If you are offended easily don't read this book.
