His Name Was Harley Manfield (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
4 starsFirst, this a short and a freebie. There isn't a lot of time for character development or relationship development, but in the short amount of time, I found that I actually felt a lot. This story was sad. Sad in a way that losing your best friend is sad, sad in the way that regret and all those "what ifs" is sad, sad in realizing how fleeting life is and maybe you aren't doing what makes you happy. But there is also hope and friendship. And that's what its all about right? And love. and well *ahem* sex.Really liked it, wish it had been longer I'm not sure why I bother any more, Mr. Webb. As soon as I read most anything you've written I should just always have a box of tissues next to me because you always hit me right in the heart and I end up doing the ugly crying thing, snot, red eyes and all. This is a beautiful holiday story that I plan on re-reading every year. If only everyone had a friend like Harvey Mansfield, the world might be a better place. Thank you, Tom.
