I have to say that I thought this book was better. I tried to picture this book as a mini series with the different chapters that I knew made up this series and I thought that as a full length book it just read better. I just could not really picture the series being as strong. I was however very surprised by how quickly I flew through this book. I started it by the time I put it down to go to bed, I was more then half was done with it. While the theme of this story indicates to the master/slave relationship don’t be fooled as it is sexy just not hard core. Which speaking of the heat level in this book, it was there and I liked it and it is the sort of heat that I have come to expect from Opal however it just did not make me instantly want a tall, glass of water. Still His to Command is a good book. I enjoy reading an Opal Carew book. There is a REALLY good storyline here (hence the 2 lonely star rating lol), and it's been told by many other authors in slightly different fashion, but Opal Carew didn't do it right. I was bored out of my mind. The writing was just so stiff, I couldn't wait for it to be over. I didn't even like the erotica and I sighed every time I turned the page because there was always another one waiting for me ....Matt's character was just plain stupid. For a billionaire Dom, he really didn't have his shit together. And Kate was just ... ok, stupid as well. I'm telling ya, there is a really good storyline ... it's a frikkin BDSM Cinderella story for Pete's sake, how can you go wrong?!?!?! Well, apparently over 300 pages worth of ways :(
