July 14: Hollow City: The Second Novel of Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. After the first book, I wasn't dying to read this one, but when I happened to find it at the library, I was intrigued enough to give it a try. Glad I did. It's very young adult, but the story world is so fantastic, and the tie-ins to vintage photos are fun. I'm sure I'll read the next in the series when it's available. I'm just gonna go out on a whim here- I'm not a very big fan of this series. It took my a while to interpret the whole premise and to be honest, I can't remember what happened in the first book:( I also don't understand the whole romance thing, or how (SPOILER) miss peregrine turned into a bird. Ransom Riggs, you are a very creative writer and I know this series is a masterpiece to you and others, but again I did not think it was a very good story and I apologize to others who love this series about this harsh review.
What do You think about Hollow City (2014)?
great, a more dire cliff hanger than the first book! Now I must impatiently wait for the next one.

I actually liked this one even more than the first one. (Of course I adored the first one as well.)

I liked the first one. The second was a struggle to finish.
