How To Be Interesting In 10 Simple Steps (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
2010 - I first came across her blog Indexed and found these cozy and crazy circles communicating context and creativity that was out of the world! I've soon become a great fan of Jessica and her beautiful Venn diagrams / charts. Never in my classroom i enjoyed these concepts*. But in Jessica's hands these circles /lines / slopes come to life with such a punch of freshness and packs a message that advts can sometimes match. A must for anyone who wants to think / present creatively. These have now become tools that can be used very effectively in management discussions / presentations and even for teachers who can stimulate / provoke thinking. *An interesting tangent: In my eager pursuit of getting a seat in engineering education, i used to attend special tuition classes for math. For a question in Circles by my tuition lecturer [ Virgil], i answered that those three circles should not intersect. He said, "unfortunately the circles intersect and you cannot stop them from doing so. Now you must think of solving the problem instead of asking them to stop intersecting" !! Well, I listened. May be Jessica wouldn't :)I still did not manage to get a seat in Engineering though :) I love and love books that have nice illustration done in a very creative way. I have few books like that, Drawing your life by Michael Nobbs is one of them. With this type of book, we are not just reading letter by letter, but we saw the author thinking process on sketch format, sometimes doodling. I like to see how they scribble things down. In this book, Jessica Haggy talk about How to be interesting, this is nothing based on scientific research on anything but based on her personal observation through out her life. There are some traits that look similar to these type of people. The love to go exploring things that are different, new, and unfamiliar. They love to share what they discover along the way. They always in the look for doing something, they constantly active in the mind and physically. They embrace weirdness as normal, they can accept something bizarre and bare with it. They always have a cause in their life, something they believe in strongly and have the urge to speak it out. They minimize swagger, it is not about style or flashy language, but it is about content and voice. They love to give a shot, not afraid to try something new. They hop off the bandwagon, standing alone outside the box and not scare to take path less traveled. They grow a pair, they accept friction, they ignore the scolds, they don't give a damn what the public said, they are just happy being themselves. This book is pretty fast to read, as she scribble a lot with big font to digest. I know my daughter will love this book as much as I do.Honestly just like her, I love to be near interesting people in life. I love to be around them. Observing them, listen to what they said, see their dangerous boundary, how they handle conflict and many others. I found few amazing persona along my life and my social media interaction. The world need them, the creative work demand them.So stay interesting all ... cheers

This book wasn't really interesting. Cute and small like Steal Like An Artist, but not as good.
