How To Bicycle To The Moon To Plant Sunflowers: A Simple But Brilliant Plan In 24 Easy Steps (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

This is one of the most fun books I've read in a while! The book's layout is reminiscent of a comic book in layout and artistic style. Although many of the steps within the book are not soundly based on any practicality, it is a fun book that encourages reading and inspires action based on hypothetical reasoning. The illustrations in some ways reminded me of old comic strips that one would find in a newspaper. Gerstein does a great job to attract young readers, as this was a very popular book in my after school program! A boy decides that the moon looks lonely, and outlines a plan (divided neatly into 24 "easy" steps) to make it more cheerful by bicycling through space to plant sunflowers on the moon.Cute and imaginative, teachers can use this book in the classroom as a model for writing a "how-to" essay; to initiate a discussion about the properties of earth and space; or as a jumping-off place for research projects (students could research botany and the moon's atmosphere to determine whether sunflowers could possibly grow on the moon).

What do You think about How To Bicycle To The Moon To Plant Sunflowers: A Simple But Brilliant Plan In 24 Easy Steps (2013)?

A wildly imaginative and improbable story with very humorous, cartooney illustrations.
