I loved this book, quirky and strange. A heroine with difference and Decca certainly gives Katnis and Tris a run for their money. Two lead males in Leo and the elusive Woo to create a wonderfully weird love triangle. Strong bonds formed during the games with other characters lead me to believe that some most awesome story telling awaits me in the next book...And where do I get a honeybee? I put down the book at first because the beginning was absurd and shallow but my friends were raving about it so I gave it another chance. I was pleasantly surprised. The writing isn't the best but Decca's character development is good. Decca grows in maturity as she discovers who she is with each challenge she faces in the Playa. Cameron makes some interesting points about the potential consequences of social media and pulls references from American pop culture which is entertaining. I found it interesting that he incorporated the "Burning Man" annual event into the story and some of the terms like "playa" is from there. If you are looking for a quick and easy dystopian novel, I recommend this book.
