I am the Secret Footballer falls into the category 'could do better but promising.' The author provides an interesting insight into the game in the UK which confirms most people's views that footballers playing in the Premier League are ridiculously over paid and thick as two short planks. As I see an increasing number of people living rough on the streets of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, I worry that a small select band of sportsmen are riding around in designer cars, drinking the best champagne and sometimes treating women as playthings. Ugh!An interesting insight and well writtenDavid Lowther. Author of The Blue Pencil (thebluepencil.co.uk)davidlowtherblog.wordpress.com what starts as a titillating tell all behind the scenes of the football world, told in an honest non shock value way, turns into a thought provoking insight in the human condition. the writer is obviously very intelligent and manages to see things as they really are. the book stays with you after reading it. in fact it is the last part of the book which is the most well written and is the most honest and real thoughts into depression that I have read and the way it spoke have helped me with mine. can't wait for the next one.
Very easy reading and relatively interesting insight into the mind of a prem footballer.

Fascinating insight to the 'real' world of football. I#d recommend it to any footy fan.
