I Shall Not Hate: A Gaza Doctor's Journey On The Road To Peace And Human Dignity (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
Beautiful. Amazing. Inspirational. A memoir written by a Palestinian doctor who was born in a Gaza refugee camp, worked unspeakably hard to gain his MD, and fought diligently to unite Palestinians + Israelis through mutual respect + medicine. His messages of love + peace shine brightly even in the face of indescribable personal tragedy, including the loss of 3 of his daughters to Israeli artillery. Sad + gorgeous + highly recommended. Thank you, Kiera. This book was an incredible eye-opener into the lives of Palestinians living in the Gaza strip. Dr. Abuelaish's personal struggle gives us incredible insight into the daily humiliations, hardships and horrors that must be endured by the millions living there. It is also a testament to the fight for peace in the region through communication and understanding NOT violence, in his words 'by building bridges, not walls'. I highly recommend this book!
