As I wipe tears from my face, I want to curse you for tugging at my heartstrings. I predicted parts of the story line as I read along but there were some surprises in there to keep me reading. I especially enjoyed reading the last couple paragraphs. How did the fire start anyway? I either read right over it (entirely possible) or we weren't given an explanation. I felt like there were a couple loose ends but it's late at night and exhaustion is sinking in. Despite a few flaws (equine errors), I really liked this book. I have a signed copy from Barclay and I'm glad to have added it to my shelves. I could have done without the death of a beloved horse, and the detailed description of how it happened. I nearly skipped it, tempted to close the pages. However, I did enjoy it and it had a few twists and turns that I didn't see coming but did like the results of them. Good writing, keeps your attention.
I read this book cover to cover in one day. Loved it!
