Jabberwocky (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

This is a truly delightful book that I enjoyed reading immensely. While I would rather Mr. Coleman had somehow implied many of the definitions of strange words (like "brillig" and "wabe") than included footnotes (I thought that would be half the fun of the book before I read it), the characters are engaging and inviting, and I enjoy how he plots the story along, filling in details to the story as found in Carroll's famous poem. It's a short book, a quick read, and you will doubtless enjoy it if you like Alice in Wonderland or other such books. This book does an excellent job of turning Lewis Carroll's Janerwocky poem from Through the Looking Glass into a tale of action and adventure. Some of the plot twists are rather transparent (especially if you're used to looking for dropped hints from the likes of J.K. Rowling, Joss Whedon, and J. Michael Straczinsky), but overall the story was fairly entertaining. There was a dearth of female characters though, and Elora, while no shrinking violet is still a fairly passive character.

What do You think about Jabberwocky (2000)?

This was a good read that could've been a great read. I felt it could've been more fleshed out.
